General Certification and the MCCN's Theological Seminary in 1963-1968. One year of language school.Egil was ordained as a pastor at MCCN's Annual Conference in the city of Drammen in 1968.
Egil worked as a pastor, supervisor at Holm Glad College and MCCN's Mission Field Secretary in Hong Kong.
Together with his wife Marianne, their first outward journey was made the 20 Aug 1980. After having worked as Mission Field Secretary and as a Supervisor in Holm Glad College for four years, they made their first homeward journey. They then to Hong Kong the 20 Aug 1987 and to Norway the 1 Jul 1990. Their last period in Hong Kong was from the 16 Jan until 30 Jun 1993.
Social service and kindergartens were some of the major development in Hong Kong by that time. In his term in Hong Kong, MCCN HK Field had successfully applied the work of an elderly centre and a kindergarten from the government. They were Sister Annie's Nursery and Yiu On Tong Elderly Centre. Furthermore, a kindergarten was established by CLAK in Richland Garden.
As the Mission Field Secretary in Hong Kong, Egil planted many churches and kindergartens together with local pastors; these were Holm Glad Church which was located in Holm Glad College, Richland Church in CLAK (Richland), Yan Lam Church in Sister Annie's Nursery and Yiu On Church in the Elderly Centre. With the encouragement from Egil, Holm Glad Church established its church in Macau and named Macau Holm Glad Church.
